There was a decent turn-out; the cost was $40 per person, which got us a buffet with salad, ziti, chicken, ribs and such, and an open beer/wine/soda bar.
The Sauters had a pre-reunion get-together, then we all headed over to the Elks Lodge.

Post-reunion, the class adjourned to the Westside Village Tavern, nee "The Zoo," though I didn't go, being past my bed-time.

Better Late Than Never
Well, catching up. There were in fact fireworks-- the new Overpeck Creek Park section was opened, and that was used as an occasion for fireworks, held over there. I watched them with the Sauters and Matthew Jeanos, Alex's son. They were up to standard.
We also watched fireworks (was it in 2009?) with Dean Beddow and family at his home in Denville, NJ. This seemed to be the same company as RP uses-- awesome fireworks, and the "tossing of the torches" afterwards. Up where I live in Groton CT, we have the famed Grucci Bros doing the Groton-New London fireworks to music, but I'm sorry-- I prefer the close-in, no-music version I grew up with.
